Blog: All

THIS BLOG WAS WRITTEN FOR WORLD MENTAL HEALTH DAY, 24 OCTOBER 2024.

On 10 of October every year we recognise the importance of mental health and why breakdown stigmas around this. This is world mental health day more important than ever that we recognise it’s OK to be not.

Titled this log simply as All. This is because we all have mental health and just like with our physical health mental health. the way we use language is really important, if we were physically ill and it’s very acceptive people have physical illnesses. But when it comes to mental health, we can often be afraid to speak.there is a strong fear for many people attached disclosing we have mental  ill health And how we will be perceived for that.

That is why world mental health day is really important to me personally. this day isn’t about delving into specific coping techniques or signposting support resources for various mental health conditions. For me I want to take this opportunity to reiterate that is OK not to be OK.  one of the hardest steps for me was reaching the point to myself I need his help with my mental ill health problem and that I wasn’t going to be able to manage it fully on my own. That’s of me a long time to reach that point to accept I can’t continue like this and to reach out for medical professional, my doctor have a conversation.

I’d say that conversation was life changing it started me on the journey to become who I am today. Five years later I am still on my mental health journey. But I have learned so much, and I’ve put in place so many things to guide me through my mental ill health conditions. There is the long term condition that must always battle against, but it is this the short term events that can often cause me the most disruption.

There isn’t a one size fits all approach to improving your mental health. Which is also true for physical health.  I just wanted to use this blog to offer reassurance, taking that big step tog get help for your mental health is so important. And you don’t have to tell a loved one, there are many organisations out there that can help.

Before I finish, I’d like you all to memorise a number: 116 123. That’s the telephone number for the samaritans.

We all have mental health. And remember you aren’t alone in this.
